Announcements for July 8

Current Series  “The Invisible War.”  Why is everything in life so hard?  Why does doing the right thing often feel like a battle?  In this series we will look at insights from God’s Word about the unseen spiritual forces working against us; the invisible war between good and evil.   Our battles are for real. Don’t live in denial. The devil, the world, and our flesh seek to ruin us. But God has a winning battle plan. The more we know Christ the more we can celebrate life’s victories.

DISCOVER KIDS – is for children through 5th grade held each Sunday morning during the Adult worship time.  Be sure to sign your children in and come to pick them up at the end of Sunday school.

FATHER’S DAY – Next Sunday, we celebrate Dads who God has entrusted with an important role.  God has a lot to say to fathers.  Join us next Sunday when we embrace and honor the fathers who walk with God and follow His plan for their lives!

WOMEN’S MINISTRIES – Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 14 for our next Women’s Ministries Bible Study.  We will meet at Dawn Brunn’s home at 8:30 a.m. Last month, we looked at the longest dialog Jesus had with any one person in the entire Bible—the Woman at the Well.  This time we will be in a room with a woman who had an amazing message, yet never said a word.  Join us for our next “Woman of the Bible” study.   Email info@discovercommunity.net or call 520-413-7891 for address and directions.

MEN’S MINISTRY – Join us for the Saturday Bible study on Saturday, July 14, at 8:30 a.m.   Plan is to meet at Pastor Chuck’s home and carpool to American Orchards Center so Bob can join us in our study.   Email info@discovercommunity.net or call 520-413-7891 for address and directions.

UPDATE ON BOB – Bob has moved to a new facility this past Thursday.  You can visit him and send cards of encouragement at American Orchards, 765 N. Lindsay Rd. in Gilbert, 85234.   Bob continues on his long journey of recovery and both he and Betty would love to see you!  Bob and Betty are so grateful and wish to thank all of you for your visits and kindness shown to them!

SUMMER 2018 TRIVIA QUESTIONS – Each week let’s look at why we do the things we do!  This week’s “Do you know???” is:  Do you know that our prayer corner is not only meant for people who are in crisis?  At Discover, we believe in the power of prayer.  Jesus asks us to pray together.  On any given Sunday, you are invited to come forward so we can pray together for Discover, Maricopa, our country, and whoever or whatever God lays on your heart.

DAILY BREAD DEVOTIONALS for June/July/August are available at the Resource Table today.  These daily devotionals are another way to help you grow in God’s love and experience His presence.

DISCOVER is a developing church with many opportunities to serve and grow.  Our vision:  “That All May Know Jesus.”  Stop by the Resource Table to get connected and talk to Pastor Chuck for ministry areas in which you would like to serve.
